We are a dedicated group of fellow parishioners that enjoy spending time with each other outside of mass, as well as providing a venue to meet new parishioners. This allows us time to get to know the personal lives of our friends, and allows us to pass along information about other members of the parish that may need assistance or just extra prayers. It has uplifted many people over the years. This has also been a positive time to meet parishioners from other masses that we might otherwise not meet.
Every Sunday after the 9:00 mass, one of our groups will serve coffee and donuts that are provided by the parish. We always have a large pot of coffee and a large variety of sweet DONUTS and sausage KOLACHES from our local Donut Shop and fresh ORANGE JUICE for the kids.
There is NO CHARGE for the refreshments. This is a special parish function that gives back to the parishioners every week. We serve these refreshments on sundays even when there is another parish sales event, such as breakfast or lunch.
EXPECTATIONS AND DUTIES Each group is responsible for setup before 9:00 mass and cleanup about one hour after mass ends (~11:30).
Typically we pick up the donuts between 7:00 and 8:30, so we can make it to the 9:00 mass.
We have prepared a document below to help everyone to undertand the expectations and where to find the supplies. Each group is only required to provide support ONE WEEKEND per month. However, if you have been involved with those groups at all, you already know they are all composed of the same people. We are always looking for new support that might be called upon when needed, even if you don't attend group meetings on a regular basis. Check out the calendar for your group and volunteer, or just show up to help. We have made new friends and solved parish problems by taking the time to get to know one another.
We have both large and small groups that help out, primarily the Men's Club and the Knights of Columbus. After COVID, a couple of other groups have stepped forward to provide assistance. The newest groups are St. Vincent de Paul, the Cookie Crumbs and the Legion of Mary. These are little known groups, but they each provide a specific very important service to the Parish and the community.
Please look around the Parish web site for more information about all those charitable groups, when they meet and how they spread the gospel in our community.
If you wish to assist, and yet not be a part of a group, contact us and we will find a way for you to help out. There is a small group of individuals who help out the FIFTH SUNDAY every 3 months because there are not enough formal groups in the parish.
